Prom Night

It is the season of Prom and as rightly so there is much dialogue about student drunk driving. There are polls and surveys by Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) and Insurance companies finding out how many students will drink and drive.

Other surveys are out for the number of incidences of unprotected sex that will happen on prom night.
This is such a big season and the choices our young people make can and will effect them today but can also effect an unknown developing baby. It takes at minimum 6 weeks before a woman knows that she is pregnant. Not to mention the many women and students who (due to denial and other home factors) did not realize they were pregnant for a few months. Either case, 6 weeks to 2 months is a long time for the potential of the baby to be exposed to alcohol and slow down or stop whatever development was occurring at that time.

Education is key and vital for the health of students and babies.
